Privacy Policy

1. Your files never leave your device

All file processing happens in your browser. Photos, signatures and PDFs are read, analysed (including face detection and background segmentation), edited and compressed locally using WebAssembly and on-device machine-learning models. We do not operate any server that receives, stores or sees your files. When you close the tab, the data is gone.

To run, your browser downloads our code, codecs and models from our website. These downloads contain no information about you or your files.

2. What we store in your browser

We keep a short list of the specs you opened recently and your theme preference in your browser’s local storage, so search can show “recent specs”. It never leaves your device; clear it by clearing site data.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used and whether they work (for example “file dropped”, “check passed”, “download”). We never send file names, images or file contents — only the tool or spec identifier and coarse size buckets. Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode: in the EEA, UK and Switzerland it only uses cookies after you consent. We may also use a cookieless analytics tool (Plausible or Umami).

4. Advertising

ExactFit is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense (and, in future, possibly another advertising network such as Ezoic, Mediavine or Raptive — this policy will name it). Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads and, where you allow it, to personalise them. Google’s use of advertising data is described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

5. Your choices

  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: a consent banner from a Google-certified consent management platform (IAB TCF v2.2) asks for your choices. Without consent, only limited, non-personalised ads are shown.
  • US states with privacy laws: you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising on Cookie settings. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically.
  • You can change or withdraw consent at any time on Cookie settings.

6. Children

The site is for general audiences and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
